Private Works

Brian releases his first solo EP titled "Black Romance" on the 7th December 2006.

My latest personal work is more folk with touches of classical. I had written several songs over a long period and saw that they had a similar theme so I decided to do more with them. I wanted to use another instrument to be as promient as the guitar but I couldn't decide which one. Then I heard Bjork's use of the harp on her "Vespitine" album.

So I went in search of the rigth person, which was hard, because all the people I spoke to did not want to work without score sheets and I wanted someone who could improvise. I had remembered seeing a harpist busking on Grafton Street in Dublin. The harpist was Junshi Murakami from Japan. He agreed to give it a go and we arranged a jam session a few days later.

The jam was a great success and we are now setting out on making an album of this material.

Also helping make this album is excellent guitarist Ken Brown who wanted to be part of the project due to his love for the songs.

Other contributors are Una O'Boyle and Miriam Ingram on vocals and on double bass Simon McVie.

I hope you enjoy the two demo tracks we have here for you.
